Charlotte Tilbury Staff Conference 2019

To source a venue to host Charlotte Tilbury’s 3-day conference in central London for their entire United Kingdom Educational team to attend. They wanted an event that would impress and leave a lasting impression on their staff. A way to reward their staff with a fun conference to celebrate their achievements. Initially they didn’t have a specific ‘look’ in mind for this, they were very flexible.

We started by visiting multiple venues in London with a completely different feel and atmosphere to them, from private members clubs and iconic venues such as Somerset house to night clubs, which ended up being the front-runner with Café De Paris. The club’s natural décor based around Studio 54 in New York turned out to be the perfect match as we later discovered that management were initially thinking of this theme when they had internal meetings.

Once we had sourced the venue, then came the exciting part of turning this conference into a daytime party! Charlotte Tilbury is such a fun brand, the key message of this year’s conference was to acknowledge the LGBTQ community and to highlight that make up is for everyone, no matter your age, gender or ethnicity, the guest speakers included multiple authors and influencers from the LGBTQ community.

To compliment this, we had meetings regarding the entertainment and how to bring the conference to life and keep everyone engaged through the day. We worked extremely closely with the venue on this, sourcing the entertainment which included; Fire breathers, Hoop Aerialists and a Drag Act. We decided there was no better way than a guy in gold hot pants!

We later found out that Charlotte herself would be making an appearance on each day which was a great treat for the staff attending. To make her reveal to the guests extra special we had the moving head lights going and then pyro technic sparklers at either side of the stage erupted as she emerged from the back of the stage. Needless to say, they weren’t expecting that.

The venue had a great lighting and sound team in house that we used, however there were additional elements that they couldn’t assist with as there were make up tutorials we needed to ensure the lighting was correct. Therefore, we arranged for an AV team that we work closely with to come in and assist with all aspects including live filming, relay screens.

On the day we were on site to oversee all elements of the day, from the set up of all Charlotte Tilbury’s internal props and equipment they bring on site to the AV and catering.
